The photos that can be seen in the gallery give an idea of how the painting would look in a given environment. The close-up detail photos also allow appreciation of the painterly treatment.
The colors of the painting may show slight variations on screen, depending on the photo and the monitor calibration used to view it. Differences in the materiality of the paint may also be observed, since the richness and vibrancy of color are pursued through the layering of glazes.

Statement:

My training is in painting, but in practice I have sought different ways to express my ideas. I work by producing series based on a single idea or “theme” that interests me. At other times, series are built within a larger “theme” where each one, taken together, forms a whole.
The painting “The Conversation” is part of a series I have been developing in which I observe people alone or in company in parks in different cities. I observe them and photograph the scene without being seen, to then interpret it in my studio.
The images of faceless beings parade among the greenery, light and shadows of that represented nature, embodying the various forms of expression of love, or sometimes merely stating its loss or nostalgia of pleasure.
Literary text and photography are generally the support for my practice; they function as triggers for ideas and thoughts that materialize in my drawings and paintings.
I believe in art as a tool for individual and social transformation.
I am interested in my work being referenced and entering into dialogue with issues that are common to all of us, as inhabitants of the same world, affected by the same imaginaries, symbols and dreams.
