LORIN - Red policy

Original painting by LORIN, part of ongoing research into the human figure emerging from tactile surfaces and color. Lorin's research focuses on the female figure as an emotional and symbolic space, where presence, identity and perception meet.

For LORIN, Red Policy is the idea that colors can also become a declaration of intent. Red, throughout history, has been associated with power, passion, danger and seduction: seemingly different meanings that share, however, the same characteristic, that of not going unnoticed.
In the painting the red does not merely accompany the figure, but seems to define its space and character, expanding into the environment through the fabric, brushstrokes and drips. The woman, on the contrary, remains composed and almost distant, creating a contrast between the energy of color and the control of presence.
