• Why You’ll Love It
This one is ridiculously pretty in person. The black caviar is classic CHANEL, but then you get that deep burgundy lizard handle against the dark ruthenium hardware and suddenly it is anything but basic.

The Coco Handle gives you the polished structure of a top-handle bag with the option of the removable chain shoulder strap, and at 12” wide, this is a substantial size without losing that elegant CHANEL shape. The burgundy handle is what absolutely makes it — subtle enough to stay sophisticated, unusual enough that another black CHANEL sitting beside it isn’t going to look quite as interesting.

And condition matters enormously here. This isn’t a rare variation that survived its first decade looking tired. It survived looking spectacular.

• Immaculate Pre-Owned Condition
This bag is genuinely exceptional. The black caviar exterior is flawless and pristine, with beautifully defined quilting, gorgeous structure and no exterior flaw of note found during inspection. The corners, edges and base all present exceptionally well.

The burgundy lizard handle is beautiful and the hardware retains its intended antiqued/ruthenium finish. The interior is remarkably clean and beautifully maintained. Even the original protective plastic remains on the interior zipper pull, which says a lot about how carefully this bag has been kept.

This is one of those pieces where the photos tell the story better than a condition grade ever could.

The Coco Handle debuted during the mid-2010s and quickly became one of CHANEL’s recognizable modern silhouettes, but these early exotic-handle versions are considerably harder to encounter than today’s standard leather-handle examples.

This particular combination is especially good: black quilted caviar + contrasting burgundy lizard + dark ruthenium hardware. Research confirms CHANEL produced comparable black caviar Coco Handles with burgundy lizard handles during this period, including 2017 examples, and 23-series examples of the larger size with ruthenium hardware are documented.
