Decorative and rare antique picture globe (Pictorial Globe) from the renowned English cartography publisher George Philip & Son Ltd. London.
The globe impresses with its distinctive deep green ocean coloring and richly illustrated continents, featuring charming little drawings of local animals, landmarks, industries, and historical ships. In addition to geographical information, the map also includes humorous or educational details such as how the International Date Line works, as well as distance scales in miles and kilometers. Mounted, the globe rests on a cream-colored plastic base with an integrated meridian.
