Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the field of artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he first came into contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, and modeling, and, most importantly, with workshop work.
Later he enrolled in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would become his main discipline: sculpture. It was in this school that he began working with materials that would be fundamental in his work, such as steel and clay. In parallel, Porto continued his self-guided studies and explored other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, choosing bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training stage, he decided to set up his studio on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to his birthplace. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation into the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals for how to communicate and narrate his story. Since then, this has been the usual tone of his works, endowing the whole body of his work with complexity and depth, touching on both social themes and his personal experiences.
