Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988), began his training in the specialty of artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing or modeling, and what is more important, with workshop work.
Later he enrolled in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studies what will be his main discipline in the future: sculpture. It is at this school where he already works with materials that will be basic in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his personal training and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, leaning towards the use of bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training phase, he decides to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to the place where he was born. It is here where he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when it comes to communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this will be the usual pattern of his works, thus adding complexity and depth to the whole of his work, with themes that touch both the social sphere and his personal experiences.
