Description from the seller
Biography
Rob van Oosten (1963) began painting in his teens. Among other things by copying 'old masters' he discovered what oil paint could do. However his career did not take the artist’s path; he became a teacher. In addition, he continued painting. For many years these were still lifes with flowers, vegetables and fruit, but he noticed that he could not express his creativity sufficiently there. That changed when he started adding sand to his work and began using putty knives and steel brushes. His work became rougher and moved more and more toward abstraction. Rob finds his inspiration in life. That can be beautiful, but it also has many rough edges.
Rob van Oosten’s work has now found its way into private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and Greece.
Recent sale exhibitions were in the ‘Tree Museum’ in Doorn and at ‘Castle Amerongen’.
These 9 works are painted on acid-free, pH-neutral paper.
