Description from the seller

Elegant Herend hand-painted porcelain lidded box, decorated in the celebrated Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern, one of the Hungarian manufactory’s most recognizable and sought-after designs.

The white porcelain body features Herend’s characteristic finely textured surface and is richly decorated by hand with colorful birds, butterflies and flowering branches, complemented by delicate gold-painted rims.

The domed lid is particularly attractive, surmounted by a charming three-dimensional yellow rose with green stem and leaves, entirely modelled and painted by hand. Several brightly colored butterflies are scattered across the lid, giving the piece a lively and refined appearance.

The main decoration depicts two birds perched among branches and foliage, executed with the fine brushwork and vivid palette typical of Herend production.

The underside bears the blue Herend Hungary Handpainted mark, together with the model/pattern reference:

662/RO – 3

Dating approximately to the 1960s–1970s.

Dimensions: approx. 9 × 11 cm

Condition: overall in good vintage condition. There are two very small chips to the petals of the applied porcelain rose forming the lid finial. These are visible in the photographs.

A refined and decorative example of classic Herend Hungarian porcelain, particularly appealing to collectors of the Rothschild Bird pattern and European hand-painted porcelain.

National and international tracked shipping by courier.
