A young dark-haired man, white shirt slipped over the shoulders, stands three-quarters against a chipped wall. He holds against him a sheaf of white and pink anemones, green stems clenched in his fist. To the left, an open window onto a troubled sea, gray and blue, a sky heavy with clouds.
The contrast organizes everything: the hard, cold sea on one side, the skin and clothing on the other, and this bouquet kept like a precious object. The gaze, raised and outside the frame, seeks nothing in the room.
Very developed modeling on the bust and neck, white drapery laid on in bold impasto, wall on the right treated with scratches and rubbings that reveal the preparation. The flowers are painted last, thick paste, dark centers emphasized.
Technique mixte: ink print with pigment, varnish brush-applied by hand, for the durable protection of the artwork.
Support: premium stretched canvas on wooden frame, ready to hang.

SACHA LYS is one of the creations uniting artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop and libre figuracion. Under the name BOLEROL, the Atelier explores stylized nudity in the manner of Mexican modernity: monochrome bodies in saturated flat fields, full, sculptural shapes, pure-color backgrounds, the grave serenity of the faces.
SACHA LYS brings together an intimate gallery of portraits: elongated faces, porcelain skin, coral lips, heavy eyelids and gazes that slide beyond the frame. The universe draws on Europe’s cosmopolitan early 20th century — Paris, Vienna, Saint Petersburg — at the crossroads of Modigliani’s mask-like visage and Klimt’s gilded decor, treated here in a muted palette of navy blue, teal, ochre and whites of muslin.
Each work is a unique piece.
