Two young men, one with brown hair, the other blond, bare-chested under a white sheer scarf, face each other in front of an open window. Behind them, the sea at sunset, an orange band on the horizon, a night blue that already rises. Between the two faces, a magnolia branch in bloom that one holds and the other brushes.
All the tension passes through their gazes, crossing but not quite meeting. The painting does not narrate the scene afterward: it stops at the instant when something is understood but not yet spoken.
Academic painting in the spirit of the late 19th century: flesh modeled in glazes, whites of the sheers in full body, a scraped background wall redone in dry matter to contrast with the finish of the faces. The magnolias are the brightest point of the canvas.
Technique mixte: ink-pigment print, varnish brushed on by hand, for the durable protection of the artwork.

SACHA LYS is one of the creations bringing together the artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop, and freefiguration. Under the name BOLEROL, the Atelier explores stylized nudity in the manner of Mexican modernity: monochrome bodies in saturated flat tones, full and sculptural shapes, pure color backgrounds, the grave serenity of the faces.
SACHA LYS gathers an intimate gallery of portraits: elongated faces, porcelain skin, coral lips, heavy eyelids and gazes that slide outside the frame. The universe draws from Europe's cosmopolitan early 20th century — Paris, Vienna, Saint Petersburg — at the crossroads of Modigliani’s mask-face and Klimt’s gilded decor, treated here in a muted palette of night blue, teal, ochre and whites of sheer fabrics.
Each work is a unique piece.

Galerie Joconde est un atelier familial et un laboratoire de création contemporaine, où trois artistes : Le Yack, Popsan et Neo Pablo, croisent leurs univers pour produire des collections originales.
