Description from the seller

MARÉ SOL (1890) - Mixed media on canvas — pigment giclée, brush-on varnish applied by hand · Digital painting · Hand-signed · 2026

A woman in profile, tight bun, light dress, occupies the right side of the canvas, eyes lowered. Behind her, a turquoise American car parked along a wall, a street in a row, two silhouettes of men moving away. The wall abruptly shifts from turquoise to orange-red, diagonally cut by the light.
The composition is that of a cinema set: the woman in the foreground does not look at anything painted behind her. Each figure holds their position, no one crosses paths, and the warmth of the wall carries all the noise of the scene.
Heavy texture, applied with a knife and then scraped: the wall bears craquelure and bold drips, the bodywork is removed in clear planes with a few highlights in chrome. The face, the only element fully modeled, stands in stark contrast to the abstraction of the background.

Technique mixte: stamped pigment ink print, brush-on varnish applied by hand, for the durable protection of the work.
Support: premium canvas stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang.
Format: 40x40 cm
Signed MARÉ SOL · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.

MARÉ SOL is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop, and free figuration. Under the name MARÉ SOL, the Atelier celebrates the light of the outdoors and summer swimming, in the tradition of knife-point Impressionist painting: bright sun, translucent water, vibrant impastos, and Mediterranean joie de vivre.

MARÉ SOL gathers summer scenes by the water’s edge—dives, swims, sunbathing—captured in the brilliance of light and the exuberance of youth. The thread running through it: a dialogue between Impressionist heritage and a contemporary perspective, where the pictorial matter enhances and transfigures the printed image.

Each work is a unique piece.

Seller's Story
