Giorgio Cattani was born in Ferrara in 1948. He graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. He participated in 1987 in the International Biennale of Cologne, in 1988 in Documenta 8 Kassel, in 1993 at "Aperto 93" on the occasion of the Venice Biennale, in 1995 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, the following year at the Triennale di Milano, in 2001 at the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara and at the Grand Palais in Paris, in 2012 in Turin at the 54th Venice Biennale
