Luca Cartoonist, registered name Luca Angelini, born in 1986, is an emerging artist in the world of pop art. He has always been passionate about comics (Disney in particular); he graduated in advertising graphics at the Istituto d’arte di Ascoli Piceno and later completed his artistic studies with a degree in comics and illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna.
Drawing and painting will continue to be part of his life despite a different professional path (though still artistic), until 2020, when, during the pandemic, he decides to fully enter the world of pop art.
He mainly portrays characters from the cartoon/comics world, adapting them and placing them within current situations, often using pop icons from yesterday and today. He mainly uses acrylic colors, spray cans, and mixed techniques of print and collage on canvas.
Since 2021 he has collaborated with several Italian art galleries, taking part with his works in events such as ArtParmafair, BAF, and some group exhibitions (MilanoFashion & Art, Espressioni d'artista…).
