This is an original Wally Wood drawing in graphite and ink depicting smoking nurses sitting around a table playing cards.
The page is from the collection of Bill Pearson, the collaborator and editor of Wally Wood's 'Witzend' magazine.
We have dated this artwork to 1968 as this is when Pearson took over editorial of Witzend, but it could very well have been drawn earlier than this by Wood.
The page has definite scorch marks to the lower edge and is slightly wrinkled, however, luckily the image area is the clearest part.
This is a fabulous working drawing by Wally Wood- just admire the quality and clarity of his mark making.
The page measures 15cm x 17cm and is executed on a thick tracing type paper stock, but could have been straight from a sketchbook.
Combined shipping is available for all Lots won by the same winner of items from The Vaults of the Book Palace Auction.
