Description from the seller
Two North African flags
1. Old Algerian national flag, executed in green and white with the distinctive red crescent and five-pointed star.
The flag is made of cotton and is a handmade specimen. The crescent and star are applied using silkscreen.
The whole item is in used and worn condition, with various discolorations and stains. It suits its age.
The Algerian flag design officially became the national flag at Algeria's independence in 1962 and is closely associated with the Algerian struggle for independence.
Size: 99 x 138 cm
2. Old cotton flag of Tunisia.
Handmade from cotton fabric. The center is applied to the flag using silkscreen.
Tunisia was under French protection from 1881 to 1956. Despite this colonial period, the red-and-white flag with a crescent and star remained the symbol of Tunisian identity and the desire for independence. After independence in 1956, the same flag was officially retained.
The flag has light discoloration and signs of use due to age, but is in good condition.
