Artist's biography:

Marsillach Codony, Joaquim. Olot, Girona, 22 May 1905 – 17 July 1986. Painter.

He enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in 1915, and from 1935 onward in the Escola Superior de Paisatge, created in Olot by the Republican Generalitat, the leading specialized center for landscape studies, closed in 1939, directed by maestro Iu Pascual. But he considered himself a pupil of Galway and Mallol, painters who frequented the Olot area to paint its surroundings. He worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot, at El Arte Cristiano, and exhibited in galleries across the country his landscape paintings, which was his preferred theme, not neglecting some figure paintings and still lifes.
