Mask - Netherlands - 2000/2015 - Masker Colja de Roo

This is a handmade ceramic wall mask by Dutch artist Colja de Roo. She is known for her distinctive, abstract, and elongated mask sculptures with an organic structure and striking relief. For her work she frequently uses specific firing techniques such as the Japanese raku technique, through which unique craquelé effects and vibrant color fields are created. The bright turquoise/turquoise glaze on this mask is characteristic of her recognizable style.
