Description from the seller
An original signed dedication sketch ("dédicace") featuring Tif and Tondu, the famous titular heroes of the classic Franco-Belgian comic strip Tif et Tondu by the Belgian comic artist 'Will' (Willy Maltaite).
Belgium - 1983
Pen (black ink) on paper.
Will is celebrated as a major figure of the influential Marcinelle school of cartooning. The character with the thick, dark beard and full head of hair is Tondu. The completely bald character sporting a classic bow tie is Tif.
The drawing is signed "Will" at the bottom right, right above the year "83", indicating it was sketched in 1983. The artist inscribed the piece with "Amicalement" (French for "Friendly" or "Best wishes"), a customary message for dedicated fan drawings.
In good condition. Normal traces of age and use. A few very faint wrinkles and discoloration due to handling ( see photo 7). For a good impression, please watch all photos carefully.
Height = 36 cm
Width = 27cm
Insured shipping.
Can also be collected in Ghent, Belgium.
