A body lying on a bed in amber shadow, hair across the face, the composition dissolving into the shadow. A characteristic image of d'Agata's exploration of desire, weariness, and the limits of the visible — a photograph made from within the experience, not observed from the outside.

On the verso: the author's statement about the work, printed by Magnum, and the autograph in ink with the annotation "N.Y.C. 07".

THE ARTIST

Antoine d'Agata trained at the International Center of Photography in New York with Nan Goldin and Larry Clark. He won the Niépce Prize in 2001 and has been an full member of Magnum Photos since 2004.

His work on addiction, sex work, and the margins of the night has been shown internationally and published in more than twenty volumes.

CONDITION

Perfect. Stored flat in a protective sleeve, never exhibited or framed. No signs of tampering, corners intact.
