Oil painting on panel by Frederik 'Fred' Sieger (Amsterdam 1902 - Zevenaar 1999).
In 1941 he had his first exhibition at Kunsthandel van Lier in Amsterdam, and since then he has had many exhibitions, including at the Museum voor Moderne Kunst Arnhem, Museum van Bommel van Dam in Venlo, Museum Jan van der Togt in Amstelveen. He also frequently exhibited in Denmark.
In 1948 he was sent by the government to the 24th Venice Biennale.
Fred Sieger was also a lecturer at the art academy in Arnhem where he taught, among others, Klaas Gubbels and Mark Brusse.
He developed into one of the leading Dutch representatives of Abstract Expressionism.
