Jewellery box - Cast brass

Description: Superb and heavy rectangular table box (jewelry or cigar box) in thick cast metal. The four sides and the lid feature rich high-relief decoration. The front face is adorned with a central frieze depicting two lions lying face to face, above two large square panels with motifs of stylized acanthus leaves. The lid presents a central gadrooned diamond-shaped medallion ornamented with Renaissance floral motifs. Style: Neo-Gothic / Neo-Renaissance (Late Modern). Material: Solid brass, with a very beautiful original patina of gold, nuances developed by time. Epoch / Period: Circa (late 19th century)
