Description from the seller
Exceptional and elegant vide-poche (or small centerpiece) vintage in genuine Murano art glass, made in Italy between the 1950s and 1960s.
The piece features a highly decorative sculptural and organic design, hand-molded in a stylized leaf or star shape with wavy and flowing points ("Splash design").
It is a standout piece that perfectly encapsulates the charm and sophistication of Italian Mid-Century Modern design.
Technique and Colors: Executed through the famed Sommerso technique, which layers colored glass without the colors mixing. The visual effect is fascinating: a thick amber/yellow base that extends and smoothly transitions to a vibrant emerald green at the edges. The outer cap in clear, thick glass catches and reflects light spectacularly, giving great depth and three-dimensionality to the piece.
Authenticity Note: The vide-poche still retains its original factory label/sticker affixed to the inner face, a crucial detail for collectors that attests to its provenance and era.
