Martini was an important Italian painter, representative of the Livornese school, known for his figurative works devoted to the Tuscan landscape tradition.
Born and raised in Livorno, he absorbed the lessons of the post-Macchiaioli tradition typical of his territory. His painting stands out for a traditional figurative style, characterized by rich, soft brushstrokes and thick, subdued colors.
His canvases evoke a nostalgic and poetic atmosphere, linked to the life of fishermen and to rural everyday life of times gone by.
