Splendid oil painting on canvas depicting a evocative and iconic view of the city of Toledo, in Spain. The work, attributable to the Spanish school of the early 20th century, captures the essence of the Castilian landscape with a vigorous, material brushstroke of clear post-impressionist imprint.

The composition is skillfully structured: the gaze is guided by the foreground path, animated by picturesque figures of travelers on horseback, toward the mighty Puente de Alcántara crossing the blue waters of the Tagus, to culminate in the monumental silhouette of the Alcázar dominating the hill in the background.

The color palette is rich and vibrant, played on the contrast between the warm ochre and burnt earth tones of the landscape and the cooler shades of the river and the dynamic sky, streaked by voluminous clouds. On the back, on the wooden frame, there is a handwritten label bearing the inscription "Tolede Ecole Espagnole 19e siècle", together with the measurements annotations.

If the frame is visible in the photo, it is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale; it does not determine the value and, given its delicacy, is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported, and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. The wall mounting system might also be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and can spoil the artwork. They can be removed on request at no extra cost. Please let me know if you prefer that the artwork be shipped without it; otherwise I cannot assume responsibility.

Notes on shipping and customs
The item will be shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries may be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs procedures.

In case of return of the package for an incorrect address, unclaimed package, or unpaid duties, the buyer must pay for a second shipment and cover the return costs.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT, and customs duties are borne entirely by the purchaser and will be collected by the authorities in your country upon delivery.

I advise you to inform yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, instead of shipping, if you have the option, personal pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will eliminate shipping costs and ensure the maximum safety of the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to pack it to protect the painting during the journey.
