Large-scope painting depicting a tranquil coastal landscape, characterized by a long pier to which small boats are moored, one of which has its white sail raised. The background is dominated by a dramatic mountain range that plunges directly into the sea, while the sky is animated by fluffy clouds lit by the delicate, warm tones of twilight. The brushwork, confident and descriptive, skillfully captures the reflections on the water and the vibrant nuances of natural light on the vegetation in the foreground.

The work bears a signature in the lower right corner clearly attributable to the surname "Chevalon". On the back closing panel is affixed the label of the frame and restoration workshop "Gil Decor" (Rue Caroline 29, Geneva), a precious detail attesting provenance and historical connection with Swiss territory. Also on the back is a stamp dated September 3, 1991. Probably a date set by the framemaker. The work is enhanced by an elegant and classic gilded frame.

If visible in the photo, the frame is included in the lot as a purely gratuitous addition by me and is not part of the sale, does not determine its value, and, due to its fragility, is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported and any damage it sustains during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. The wall-mounting system could also be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and could damage the work. They can be removed upon request at no additional cost. Please inform me if you prefer the work shipped without it; otherwise I cannot assume responsibility.

Notes on shipping and customs

The item is shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries may be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs clearance procedures.

In case of return of the package for an incorrect address, unclaimed package or unpaid duties, the buyer shall pay for a second shipment and cover return costs.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT, and customs charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer and will be collected by the authorities of your country upon delivery. I advise you to inform yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, to shipping, if you have the possibility, personal pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will eliminate transportation costs and ensure maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package it so as to protect the frame during the journey.
