Description from the seller
Jeremiah
Oil and acrylic on canvas
100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches)
Jeremiah is an intimate and provocative portrait built around tension, confidence and deliberate self-display. Against a saturated cobalt-blue background, the figure tilts his head back slightly, meeting the viewer with a detached, almost languid gaze. The extended tongue becomes the central gesture of the composition, openly sensual, playful and confrontational, yet held within an otherwise controlled and composed pose.
The warm skin tones and dark, loosely gathered hair contrast sharply with the intense blue surrounding the figure. Broad simplified planes define the shoulders, chest and neck, while small shifts in tone give the body a soft physical presence. The vivid red tongue cuts through the restrained palette, intensifying the erotic charge of the image without overwhelming its quietness.
In Jeremiah, exposure does not imply vulnerability. The raised chin, relaxed posture and direct gaze give the figure a sense of assurance, as though the provocation is entirely intentional. There is an ambiguous distance in his expression that complicates the sensuality of the gesture: he appears inviting and inaccessible at the same time.
The resulting portrait is heated but restrained, balancing masculine beauty with a subtle psychological tension. Jeremiah presents desire not as something passive, but as an act of confidence, bold, intimate and slightly mysterious.
This original painting by VITYRA is hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube, an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm (39 x 55 inches), with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching.
