Afterglow explores the persistence of the experience beyond the moment it occurs. Inspired by the language of urban art, the piece builds a composition of fluid forms, translucent layers, and spontaneous gestures that evoke the trace left by movement, light, and memory. Rather than depicting a specific moment, it aims to capture what remains once that moment has passed.
The chromatic intensity, dominated by reds, magentas, and oranges, creates an atmosphere of latent energy, while the overlap of planes and transparencies dissolves the boundaries between figure and abstraction. Each layer reveals fragments of the previous one, suggesting that no experience exists in isolation; all accumulate, transforming perception and shaping the visual identity of the work.
The title, Afterglow, refers to the residual glow that lingers after the light source has disappeared. This idea becomes a metaphor for the emotions, memories and encounters that continue to influence us long after they have ended. The painting invites the viewer to slow down and traverse its multiple depths, discovering new relationships between color, gesture and space with each contemplation.
Between technical rigor and the expressive freedom of graffiti, Afterglow stands as a reflection on the persistence of creative energy. It is a work that does not seek to fix a single meaning, but rather to celebrate the beauty of ongoing transformations and the invisible marks that each experience leaves in us.
