Dümler & Breiden ceramic floor vase from Germany, 40 cm high with a 25 cm diameter, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear and dating to the 1970s in the Mid-Century/West German Pottery style with a multicoloured glaze.
Description from the seller
Large-format floor vase by Dümler & Breiden, one of the well-known German ceramics manufacturers of the Mid-Century and West-German Pottery era.
The sturdy, balanced form with a bulbous body, tapered neck and distinctly flared mouth is especially effectively emphasized by a surrounding horizontal decoration. Varying wide bands in olive green, ochre, rust orange and dark brown run freely around the entire vessel body, creating a lively, almost landscape-like play of color.
Particularly appealing is the glaze: matte and slightly glossy areas as well as fine color transitions and speckled textures give the surface depth and make each view somewhat different. The darkly glazed interior forms a beautiful contrast to the earthy color palette on the outside.
On the bottom there is the embossed factory mark Dümler & Breiden – Germany as well as the form/model designation. The design is characteristic for German ceramic production of the 1970s.
An imposing floor vase with an especially typical Seventies color scheme – decorative both as a standalone piece and in a collection of German studio pottery and West German Pottery.
