Oumar Ly (1943-2016) - Femmes de Podor

Oumar Ly
Senegalese photographer, born around 1943 near Podor, on the banks of the Senegal River in the north of the country – died February 29, 2016. With more than 5,000 shots – mainly portraits and black-and-white group photos, but also outdoor snapshots and reports –, he bears witness to daily life and its changes in the historic Fouta-Toro region, which he spent 40 years roaming.
