Johan Moorman, The Autonomous Driver, an original 2024 acrylic painting on canvas (90 x 120 cm) in Futurism style depicting a landscape, hand signed with mint condition, created in the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Johan Moorman (1979) developed his artistic practice in the dynamic city of Eindhoven. He began as a graffiti artist in the 1990s and has continued to experiment ever since, without limiting himself to any single style or medium.
His artistic development was shaped in part by the technologically progressive environment in which he grew up and by his subsequent education at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. These influences have strongly defined his perspective on art and his working method.
Moorman draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, from arcade games, M.C. Escher, and Lego to De Stijl, Pop Art, and the Memphis Group. In his work, these references converge into a timeless visual language, where moments appear frozen within an adventurous, playful setting.
The interaction between objects, forms, and spaces invites the viewer to step into an imaginary universe. His multidisciplinary approach to creativity is reflected in the way he intertwines various styles and influences. From the recognizable aesthetic of classic arcade games to avant-garde design, Moorman combines elements of Anti-Design with a sense of elegance, creating spatial worlds that transcend the boundaries of conventional visual language.
