We offer for auction a special vintage Swiss pocket watch, Cortébert brand, equipped with the legendary in-house movement caliber 592 R. This piece is a special historical order made for U.D.R. (Uzinele de Fier și Domeniile Reșița), one of the biggest giants of heavy industry and locomotive construction in interwar Romania.Technical condition: The watch is perfectly functional. The balance wheel moves freely and with good amplitude, the mechanism starts immediately and keeps the correct time for its age.Details and specifications:Mechanism: Original Cortébert caliber 592 R with 17 jewels, extremely clean and well preserved. This high-precision 17-line caliber is famous in the watchmaking world because its architecture was historically used as the technical basis by Rolex for its pocket watches from the same era.Case: Made of Nickel-Chrome alloy. The inside of the case is marked with the official Cortébert brand mark (star), serial number 1401975 and model reference 5907. Case back: Features a superb work on a textured guilloché background, with the original UDR emblem/monogram in relief applied in the center, specific to the 1930s–1940s period. Dial: White, original, with Arabic numerals, thin thermally blued steel hands and a peripheral secondary dial positioned at 6 o'clock. It has a natural, uniform patina, which enhances its authentic vintage character. Dimensions: Classic pocket watch diameter (approx. 48-50 mm without crown).
