Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1
With this vertical-format artwork, Medsan superimposes two images of Japan into one: the silhouette of a woman in a kimono, coiffed in the geisha style, and the winter landscape of Mount Fuji that occupies her entirely. The principle of double exposure, inherited from photography, meets the ink landscape tradition and the iconography of Fuji fixed by Hokusai in his Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. The cartouche メドサン, placed bottom left, signs the piece like a seal on a print. The overall effect imitates watercolor and ink wash, in a deliberately restrained palette.
Inside the contour, the snow-capped cone dominates a frozen lake bordered by bare trees and white shores, and a blue cloud unfolds exactly where the hair would be, like a plume of steam. Beneath the silhouette, a second tiny figure walks away on a path, parasol open, dressed in black: she provides the scale and introduces the only movement in an otherwise suspended scene. The palette is limited to indigo, ink grays, and the white of the background, a choice that brings the snowy landscape closer to Japanese printmaking. The vertical composition guides the gaze from the walker to the summit, then to the cloud escaping from the frame.
The mashup says one simple, powerful thing: the landscape is not behind the figure, it is within her. The mountain becomes inner identity, memory of a place one carries rather than contemplates, and the tiny walker recalls the human being’s place before the immensity, a central theme of Japanese landscape painting. Winter’s silence completes the rest: it is a contemplative image as much as a journey.
A contemplative and graphic piece, ideal to bring a touch of Japanese flavor and serenity to an interior of a collector devoted to prints and East Asian landscapes. What you receive is a unique giclée print on canvas, a pigment-ink numbered 1/1 and hand-signed: a single copy in the world.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists gathered around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative, introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. At his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each piece is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
