With this square-format work, Medsan has Iron Man board a founding image of American imagery: Washington Crossing the Delaware, painted by Emanuel Leutze in 1851. The scene is rendered in the language of church stained glass, framed by black lead came that digital creation imitates down to the bubbles caught in the glass. What remains are the anonymous rowers, bent over their oars, driving the boat forward while the icon salutes the sun.
