With this square-format work, Medsan brings Link, the hero of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda, into the decorative universe of Gustav Klimt and Japanese byōbu screens. The composition borrows its vertical rhythm from the panel screens and its monochrome background from Vienna Secession's Golden Age, while Navi the fairy and the Master Sword remind us that we are indeed in Hyrule. Two worlds that venerate ornament meet here on one plane.

Link stands facing the viewer, legs apart, blue gaze fixed straight ahead: the canonical pose of victory, the right arm raised, brandishing the Triforce above his head. His green tunic is no longer plain but covered with spirals and swirls drawn from Klimt's ornamental vocabulary, that of The Tree of Life and The Kiss, so that the hero's costume itself becomes a decorative surface. Around him, the image unfolds concentric circles, scrollwork, clusters of red, blue, and green beads, asanoha patterns and chrysanthemums engraved in the light field, and long water scrolls reminiscent of Japanese prints. At the bottom, a band of malachite green and deep black anchors the figure and closes the composition, guiding the gaze from the dark ground to the bright triangle held aloft.

This close connection says something fair: the video game icon is treated as a sacred figure in a diptych, crowned by a clear field like the saints in Byzantine mosaics from which Klimt drew inspiration. The Triforce brandished functions exactly as a sanctity attribute, and the hero of pixels attains the status of a devotion image. It is pop culture viewed with the seriousness usually reserved for masters.

The artist's signature appears in the cartouche メドサン accompanied by a red seal, bottom right. What you receive is a unique giclée print on canvas, a pigment-based impression numbered 1/1 and signed by hand: the luminous material and gilding effects shown in the image are those of Medsan's creation, faithfully reproduced by the print.
