This elegant Japanese bamboo flower basket (hanakago) bears the signature Nansen (南仙). The rectangular basket is skillfully constructed from finely split bamboo, combining an open lattice structure with denser woven sections that create a lively yet balanced rhythm across the surface.
A particularly attractive feature is the sculptural handle, formed from curved bamboo strips and finished with an expressive decorative knot. The deep reddish-brown patina enhances the natural character of the bamboo and gives the piece a warm, aged appearance.
