VIMOPAR - TEMPERANCE , XXL.

VMP is a Spanish visual artist, PhD in Art and Research, whose practice combines contemporary figurative painting with experimentation in cinema and animation. Numerous awards and selections attest to a consolidated and recognized artistic career.

This original piece, 116 × 73 cm, created in 2026, is a figurative-abstract study in which an internal system of codes is constructed that are not used to symbolize psychic states, narratives, or messages. These are laws of pictorial functioning, not keys to allegorical reading. The painting is not organized to “say something” beyond itself, but to show how a figure is sustained, how color closes a space, and how gesture is inscribed on the surface. The codes it configures (repetition of motifs, specific treatment of light, a certain compositional rigidity, a particular gaze) operate as rules of visual play, not as keys to emotional or narrative interpretation.

It is proposed that the viewer confront the painting as an object with its own internal laws, rather than seeking in it a confession, a trauma, or a personal story. The possibility of a metaphorical reading is not denied, but the practice is not constrained by the obligation to produce one. The interest lies not in encoding a hidden world, but in explicitly organizing the visible world.

This work is done in oil on premium cotton canvas. It is a 100% raw cotton canvas, which I primed myself with Lefranc & Bourgeois gesso. The painted surface measures 116 × 73 cm, with an additional edge of canvas to facilitate handling and framing. All materials used are of first quality. I begin painting with acrylic and finish with glaze) using Liquin and oil. There is some use of silver oil and some chromed enamel.

The shipment is made only with the canvas rolled, protected with bubble wrap and cardboard or a rigid support, guaranteeing its proper preservation during transport.
