Description from the seller
Original oil painting on canvas. Unique work. Canvas made entirely by hand. 60 x 60 cm. Signed by the artist. Certificate. (The interior render is an AI visualization provided for indicative purposes.)
A man in a gray suit, back to the viewer, hands clasped, stands in the doorway frame of a wide-open door. Above him, a red EXIT sign. But the door does not lead to any corridor: it opens directly into emptiness, onto an entire city of skyscrapers with lit windows, under an electric blue sky that is neither quite day nor quite night. The floor of the room is warm orange; its shadow stretches at his feet.
Le Yack places a simple image and lets it work: the exit is there, indicated, open — and the man does not move. Is it the man who prefers not to, or the man who has only one step left to take? The canvas does not settle the question, and that is what makes it unsettling.
Smooth, precise handling, bordering on precisionism: hard edges of the door, buildings built in simple volumes, points of light laid down in a single gesture. The contrast between the orange floor and the blue city is the chromatic engine of the whole painting.
Delivery information: The canvas is shipped rolled, unframed, carefully protected, placed in a reinforced rigid tube. This shipping method guarantees optimal protection of the artwork during transport. The buyer will be able to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer according to their preferred presentation.
Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, aka Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. He is exhibited in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
Inspired by classic and modern painting, Le Yack brings a contemporary perspective to his creations by incorporating emblematic elements of pop and urban culture. His works are characterized by bright colors, dynamic shapes, and expressive compositions.
The artist also explores different forms of artistic production. Some of his works are reproduced in series on canvas-stretched supports, creating limited editions accessible to a wider audience. Other works are created as unique paintings on canvas, adding an exclusive and authentic dimension to his collection.
Le Yack’s style reflects a fusion between traditional art and the endless possibilities offered by digital technology. His innovative approach and adept use of digital resources allow him to create original works that captivate the eye and invite reflection.
