Description from the seller
Dawn of the Derivas Series
One-of-a-kind work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops an inquiry into the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed but move, transform, and continually reconfigure themselves.
The works are situated in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographic features that do not belong to a specific place, but to a landscape experience in constant change.
The concept of the extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking about the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon decomposes, and depth is constructed through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, the relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subject to processes of mutation.
Color acts as structure and energy. The color ranges are organized in transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests movement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, building a landscape that is never presented as definitive.
In Derivas, landscape ceases to be an image and becomes a process: a way of perceiving in which matter, color, and time meet in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, ensuring its authenticity and preserving the pure visual surface of the painting. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of realization, and Ella Suárez’s signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), confirming its origin and authorship.
Clarifying note:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations from the original work due to lighting in the spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between viewing devices. The photographs have been taken with the greatest possible care.
Shipping details:
The work will be shipped rolled in a protective tube, a method that guarantees safe transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an extra 5 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which may be done by the buyer or by a professional.
