DESCRIPTION: I am presenting at auction a RARE AND INTERESTING 2-VOLUME NEW TESTAMENT, printed in Amsterdam in the year of Our Lord 1756 by the famous printer and enlightened bookseller Marc-Michel Rey. A WORK OVER 270 YEARS OLD.

It is a singular pedagogical and theological edition titled «Le Nouveau Testament mis en catechisme par demandes & par reponses», in which the Sacred Text is presented in the form of questions and answers. This peculiar catechetical arrangement aimed to facilitate religious instruction, theological study, and understanding of the Scriptures through direct explanations, analytical notes, and subject indexes.

Our work was published under the prestigious imprint of Marc-Michel Rey (1720–1789), a key figure of the European Enlightenment based in Amsterdam, famous for publishing the works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and other great thinkers of the era.
