Description from the seller
Rainy night. A laundromat, storefront lit with white neon, turquoise walls, a row of chrome portholes. Three people who do not speak to each other: a man in a leather jacket and felt hat, asleep on a red Formica chair, arms crossed; a woman in a coral dress folding a white shirt; a teenage girl in a plaid skirt and socks, seated on a washing machine, immersed in a book. Outside, a teal pickup parked in the rain, and the sidewalk throwing back all the lights.
It’s Le Yack’s Hopper: three solitudes under the same neon, each in their own bubble, and the spectator outside, on the wet sidewalk, looking through the glass. Nothing happens and everything is there — the waiting, the fatigue, the clean laundry, the book you finish. The coral of the dress is the only warm point in a world of blues and chrome.
Ultra-smooth and precise facture: reflections on the tile, droplets on the bodywork, the aluminum door frame rendered in meticulous detail. The cold neon light is positioned in sharp plan and cuts the scene like a glass box in the night.
