Description from the seller
Elegant Limoges porcelain centerpiece, circular in shape, measuring about 29 cm in diameter, with an overall width of about 37 cm, including the mount and handles.
The porcelain features a particularly refined decoration, consisting of a hand-painted polychrome floral bouquet at the center, surrounded by several bouquets and small flowers in tones of pink, violet, blue, yellow and green.
The decoration is enhanced by broad pale blue reserves adorned with a gilded lattice, punctuated by small floral motifs, as well as numerous scrolls, volutes and Rocaille-style gilded ornaments.
The whole is heightened by an important gilded metal mount, richly worked with foliage, flowers and raised decorative elements. The two side handles, also embellished, reinforce the monumentality and decorative character of the piece.
The reverse bears a Limoges mark depicting a crowned 'e', accompanied by the inscription 'LIMOGES'. The corresponding manufacture for this mark is not clearly identified.
