Gien Brouwer lived and worked in the area around Utrecht.
In Rotterdam he attended the art academy, after which he received private lessons from Hermanus Jozef Wijngaard.
His great love is painting with oil on canvas in naturalistic tones.
The themes he favors are mainly Dutch landscapes, such as polder and river scenes.

Gien Brouwer woonde en werkte omgeving van Utrecht. In Rotterdam volgde hij de kunstacademie waarna hij privèles kreeg van Hermanus Jozef Wijngaard. Zijn grote liefde is schilderen met olieverf op linnen in naturalistische tinten. De thema`s waar hij voor kiest zijn voornamelijk Hollandse landschappen, zoals polder-en rivierlandschappen.
