Description from the seller
Not your doll - 38 (n.744)
The measurements are:
- collage: 50.00 x 40.00 cm
Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash.
In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the newest pieces I have created.
On these little pieces of paper you can read words and phrases scattered here and there.
It often happens this way when we truly get close to another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent female faces with features that evoke the most classic dolls, and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll and you can do with me what you want" with everything that lies behind it, up to, unfortunately, violence.
The surface features small reliefs and I like to caress it, to feel it...
I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust.

This work is unique and original.
Each piece is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for worldwide shipping, with an included Certificate of Authenticity.
A tracking number is provided for the shipment.
This piece will be shipped without a frame or stretcher as the work will be sent in a tube. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the larger surface will be useful and necessary to be stretched on a frame.
It is recommended to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a possible appropriate frame.
Images showing the work in interior settings are for illustration purposes only and proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long break lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes, but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and real.
For me painting is to "freeze time" at that exact moment; my painting is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the objects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that - over time - grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable both by touch and to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years during which my works were made from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and geometric grids with mathematical rigor that seen up close seem to form an abstract colorful painting but the more you move away the more a portrait figure emerges from the many painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner’s dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
