Description from the seller

In this canvas, the artist reinterprets the dynamics of tennis through a bold, nocturnal composition, where geometric abstraction meets a pronounced sculptural dimension. The playing space fragments into a grid of material blocks that oscillate between ultramarine blue and black, creating a mosaic of raised patches that seem to float on the opaque background.

The strong tactile presence of the painting is the backbone of the composition. The color rectangles are laid with dense spatters and heavy accumulations of matter along the edges, capable of catching the light and defining sharp, three-dimensional boundaries. The white lines of the court tracing, rigid and luminous, cross diagonally the structure, breaking the regularity of the grid to infuse a sense of dynamism and vertiginous perspective.

At the center of this architecture of cool tones emerges the emotional core of the work: the micro-figure of a tennis player in a fluorescent yellow suit. The only warm and vibrant color point, the athlete is captured at the moment of maximum athletic tension, with the racket raised high, ready to strike.

The extreme contrast between the solitude of the tiny figure and the imposing geometric structure that surrounds it transforms the match into an act of intense individual concentration. It is a work that lives on silence, graphic rigor, and material vibration, capable of restituting the psychological essence of the game even before its physical representation.
