Duo of vase and textured carafe in green blown glass, Biot type, 1960s
Description
Beautiful vintage decorative set consisting of two pieces in artisanal blown glass in intense emerald green and translucent. This duo testifies to European organic glass art of the mid-20th century (Biot / Empoli style).
These pieces catch the light with depth, creating vibrant emerald reflections throughout any interior.
Aesthetic details and dimensions :
- Vase :
Dimensions: 36.5 cm (H) x 21 cm (D).
Aesthetics: Its slender silhouette begins from a bulbous base, stretches into a fine neck, before opening into an elegantly undulating and festooned corolla. The body is traversed by fine vertical ribs that energize its form and enhance its luminous transparency.
- Carafe textured :
Dimensions: 33 cm (H) x 16 cm (D).
Aesthetics: A piece with strong presence, characterized by a richly textured surface. The thick body bears a regular honeycomb-like alvéolé pattern in relief that plays wonderfully with the light. It rests on a marked foot, underscoring its artisanal and robust character.
Condition:
Beautiful vintage overall condition. The two pieces bear authentic marks of manual work: small air bubbles trapped in the material, thickness variations and surface imperfections that make each piece unique. The base of the carafe shows a pontil scar (shaped like an "X"), evidence of the glassblower's rod being detached by hand during creation. Light signs of use on the bases.
