Description from the seller

As shown in the photos, I am selling a beautiful painting by Raffaele Frumenti, 'Figurante (Houses of a City)'.

Excellent overall condition; it has no defects of any kind.

Signed on the front and the back
Dedication

- Raffaele Frumenti -

Raffaele Frumenti (1922 – 2002) born in Rome in Borgo Pio, the ancient papal district. Painter by vocation, he demonstrated the ability to express himself artistically from a young age, when for pure amusement he built small theatre stages, taking care of the scenery and painting the backdrops. His painting is a colorful, melancholic, ironic and captivating world that explodes in the representation of the human comedy. The paintings depict characters resembling cardinals who at the same time recall circus clowns, in a world of ghosts that spring from his subconscious, perhaps a legacy of a childhood spent peering inside the Basilica of St. Peter.

The painting of Raffaele Frumenti is, formally, essentially color painting: a most precious color experienced as a kind of visual music that unfolds through variations in timbres and tones, in a triumph of sparkling brushstrokes. A painting of pleasant sensations. Additionally, he had the honor of executing a mural triptych in the atrium of the S. Basilio Middle School in Rome, commissioned by the Fine Arts. He designed the cover for the book 'Polizia in azione'. He was a teacher of Artistic Drawing at the State Middle School “Benvenuto Cellini.”
