Description from the seller
Joan Miró – The Printmaking Studio, 1990
Large-format original exhibition poster
An impressive piece of exhibition history and at the same time a decorative example of Joan Miró's extraordinary imagery.
The large-format poster was produced in 1990 in connection with the exhibition L’atelier de gravure. With its unusual format of almost one meter in height it has a strong presence and is especially impressive in generous spaces.
Miró's characteristic signs, forms and the seemingly playful composition give the sheet that unmistakable lightness for which the Catalan artist became famous. At the same time the poster does not look like a mere reproduction, but like an autonomous piece of graphic exhibition culture of its time.
The sheet is unframed and unsigned and is offered in the original format specified here.

About Joan Miró
Joan Miró is among the most influential artists of classical modernism. The painter, graphic artist and sculptor, born in Barcelona, developed a visual language that deliberately departed from realistic representation.
Dots, lines, organic forms and symbolic figures became the recurring elements of his art. What appears playful and spontaneous at first glance is based on a very independent artistic language.
In addition to his painting, graphic printmaking occupies a significant place in Miró's oeuvre. The 1990 exhibition L’atelier de gravure was devoted precisely to this area of his artistic work.
