Evert Jan Ligtelijn (1893 – 1975) was a well-known Dutch painter who mainly worked in the style of Impressionism. He was born in Amsterdam and died in the famous artist village of Laren.
Ligtelijn developed his own style with a very loose, lively brushwork, with a strong emphasis on light, atmosphere, color and spatial perception. He liked painting along the Vecht.
Loenen aan de Vecht was a favorite place where he produced several paintings from different viewpoints.
