Description from the seller

SAINT ANTIPAS OF PERGAMUM.
The episcopal omophorion on the shoulders.
The right hand in a blessing pose.
The Gospel held in the left hand.
His distinctive long pointed beard.
The golden nimbus.

The inscription in Cyrillic characters reads «Священномученик Антипа», that is, «Holy Hieromartyr Antipas».

Saint Antipas was bishop of Pergamum and a martyr of early Christianity. He is mentioned in the Apocalypse (2:13) as the “faithful witness” of Christ. His feast is traditionally celebrated on April 11. Orthodox iconography portrays him precisely as an elderly bishop, with a pointed beard and holding the Gospel.
