"Light in the Dark": Geometries and subtle trajectories emerge from a deep space. Blue, ochre and orange traverse the shadow, creating a balance between light, matter and silence
PAOLO CONTIN has developed his personal artistic path for more than twenty-five years and is in constant evolution. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This has been followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
Paolo Contin's artistic journey is documented also by his inclusion in the Arte Mondadori catalog with related quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in the Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of "Tostart", an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the period of the Pandemic.
An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, matter painting and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, color fields, geometric shapes and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement and emotion.
Experimentation extends to sculpture and wood as well, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues today to evolve without preset formulas: every work arises from the desire to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity.
